Client Reviews
it was among this and the pro mark 1/two" 92' rope. chose this due to the fact it is rated at 16,xxx lbs and the pro mark a single is rated at 13,xxx lbs, plus this has the rock/tree guard on it. worth the additional handful of bucks.
it cant get five stars although, considering the fact that a 3/four" shackle does not match through the eye of the rope, which is what i made use of on my cable. fitting a 3/four" shackle (the most prevalent sort put to use with winches) need to unquestionably be taken into consideration when designing one thing like this.
update: this rope's held up genuine properly, it is got many dozen excellent pulls on it. it's starting to develop some frays, most of them induced by the rope rubbing against the bolt mounting piece at the finish of the rope (exactly where the starting of the rope bolts to the spool). Prior to you place this rope on your winch, wrap the bolt mounting piece with a lot of electrical tape to cover up the sharp corners on it. I ended up taking it off and taping it up like that, it is stopped any far more frays from occurring when winching. You are going to know what I mean when you see it. If you have a clevis hook to go with it, I've been utilizing this a single: Curt Manufacturing 81970 7/16 In Clevis Safety Latch Hook
Purchased this line at the exact same time as the Tuff Stuff 12,500 winch. Contrary to an other critique a three/4" pin shackle DOES fit the eye of this rope, possibly they made a adjust. Also though it does evaluate in price tag to the ProMark rope the ratings differ because the ProMark rope is 5/16" (1/16" thinner) and thus lower rated.
Concerning the thickness, this rope is pretty thick. It completly fills the drum on my winch to the point of rubbing the cross bars, a thing to give consideration to. I have not but spooled on the line below load so this may well change.
Honestly this line is overkill for a winch in the 12,000 range but the price tag was correct and I won't have to be concerned about line breakage.
I read on an ozzie 4X4 website to attach synthetic winch lines with a clove hitch prior to mounting the eye to the drum. This tends to make sense as syn line has a lot much less friction to grip the drum. Thus this is the mounting process I recommend.
UPDATE:
I have now spooled the line on the winch when below load. It created a significant difference in the thickness of the rope. Now with the line totally in I can get my complete hand between the rope and crossbars. This will allow for extra room must the line not spool completely due to off angle pulls (which takes place in genuine planet recovery conditions).
